Our annual group ride on the historic Dawson Overland Trail from Whitehorse to Braeburn and return. **NEW FOR 2019: PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS MANDATORY. This event is free and open to everyone, however we will need to know how many people are coming and we will also need a way to contact all participants if we change dates last minute due to weather or trail conditions. To register please use any of our contact us options and simply tell us your name, your interested in the Braeburn ride, and your preferred method of contacting you. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN AND MUST BE COMPLETED AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO RIDE DEPARTURE.** This ride, as always, is pending adequate weather and snow conditions. We will be departing from the Takhini River staging area at 8 am, having lunch at Braeburn Lodge, and then returning to the Takhini River staging area some time that evening. We will also be stopping for several short breaks at various historic sights and scenic viewpoints along the way. Everyone is welcome to join however please note this is an all day ride of approximately 200 km round trip on a remote wilderness trail. A one-way ride from Whitehorse to Braeburn (approx 100 km) is also an option if enough people are willing to share the cost of having a truck and trailer meet us in Braeburn. The K.S.A. will lead the way however each rider will be responsible for bringing their own snowmobile, gas, food, supplies, and transport to and from the staging area. If you have any questions, would like more information, need directions to/from the staging area, or would like to register for this ride please let us know through any of our usual contact us options!

Notes: * Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of over-snow vehicles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site of Canada (CTNHS) is designated as restricted, prohibiting their use during NON- MOTORIZED weekends.  This includes the operation, loading, and unloading of over-snow vehicles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot.  Non-motorized weekends include all of the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are generally scheduled as every third weekend throughout the winter season, as identified on the above schedule.  All other days are considered “multi-use” with snowmobiles allowed. The schedule for each season is usually made available some time in November and posted here shortly after.  Any questions or comments regarding the CTNHS please contact Parks Canada at (867) 667-3910 or 1-800-661-0486, or visit http://www.pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/yt/chilkoot/visit/comportements-guidelines/hiver-strat-winter.
