October 2020

05     K.S.A. Annual General Meeting – Meeting starts at 7 pm at the Gold Rush Inn in the meeting room just west of the bar, and everyone is welcome to attend!  Covid-19 precautions will be in effect.  We will be reviewing the past year, electing our 2020/2021 Board of Directors, and discussing the upcoming snowmobile season.  After the Annual General Meeting we will be taking a short break and then proceeding with the October monthly board meeting.

16-24   International Snowmobile Safety Week – January 16th through 24th 2021 is International Snowmobile Safety Week, stay tuned for more details.  For snowmobile safety tips and information any time you can also check out the Safety section on our website!

06-15   International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week – Do you know anyone who doesn’t snowmobile but might be interested in trying it?  Bring them out for a tour!  Do you have friends that snowmobiled in the past but haven’t lately?  Tell them to come on out too!  February 6th through 15th 2021 is International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week.  Surveys have indicated that many people are interested in trying snowmobiling but don’t know where to start, so this is your chance to take them out and show them what snowmobiling is all about!

Annual Take A Friend Snowmobiling Group Ride – Date and details coming soon.  As part of International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week, the Klondike Snowmobile Association will be hosting our annual take a friend snowmobiling group ride.  Do you know anyone who doesn’t snowmobile, but might be interested in giving it a try?  This is the perfect chance to bring them along for an introduction to snowmobiling!  We will be sticking to easy trails and stopping for several breaks so all types of snowmobiles and riders of all skill levels are welcome to join. This event is free and open for everyone, however all riders will be responsible for bringing their own snowmobiles and riding gear.  Helmets and safe riding practices are required for all K.S.A. rides.

Notes:

* Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of over-snow vehicles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site of Canada (CTNHS) is designated as restricted, prohibiting their use during the non-motorized weekends.  This includes the operation, loading, and unloading of over-snow vehicles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot.  Non-motorized weekends include all of the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and are generally scheduled as every third weekend throughout the winter season, as identified on the above schedule.  All other days are considered “multi-use” during which snowmobiles are allowed.
