Summer Trail Work
25 May 2023 – Klondike Snowmobile Association
Summer has arrived in the Yukon, and with that comes time for some summer trail maintenance days.
We have two evenings planned already, and there’s more on the agenda for later in the summer. More volunteers are needed so if you are interested please come out to any of our trail work evenings or contact us any time.
Join us for our big Trans Canada Trail cleanup event on Monday June 12th, from 19.00 to 21.00 starting and finishing at the trail head behind Trails North. We are thrilled to have received a Trail Care Grant from Trans Canada Trail for this event and we are hoping to remove substantial quantities of litter and garbage from the trail and surrounding area as well as some minor trail maintenance as required. All tools and materials will be provided by the Klondike Snowmobile Association with help from Trans Canada Trail, so for new volunteers no supplies or experience is needed. Free snacks and beverages will also be available for all volunteers, so come on out and make a difference on the Trans Canada Trail!
As a warm up event we are also planning to hit the McLean Lake trail on Thursday June 8th starting at 19.00 at the staging area on McLean Lake Road just below the gravel pits. We will be doing litter pickup as well as some light brushing and signage repair. If you have some time on June 8th more volunteers are needed here as well!
As the season progresses we will be hosting several more trail work events, and the details will be posted on our events page at https://ksa.yk.ca/coming-events/, so stay tuned!
