2021/2022 Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site Winter Use Schedule Now Available

Parks Canada has posted the 2021-2022 Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site Winter Use schedule and it is now available on the Parks Canada website at https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/yt/chilkoot/bulletins/0A9FB15C-27BE-4C8D-9036-3C5EA67D528E, and also on our Events page at ksa.yk.ca/coming-events.

Every third weekend throughout the winter season has been designated as non-motorized only for the entire Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site. Snowmobiles are permitted at all other times…

Pursuant to Section 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of snowmobiles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site (CTNHS) is designated as restricted, prohibiting their use during the Non-Motorized Weekends. This includes the operation, loading, and unloading of snowmobiles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot. Non-motorized weekends extend from 1:00 am on Friday through 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, as identified on the above schedule. Snowmobiles are permitted at all other times.”
