2 – Anyone and everyone is welcome to join in on K.S.A. group rides, however helmets are mandatory and there will be zero tolerance for impaired or unsafe riding.

11-20     International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week – Do you know someone who doesn’t go snowmobiling but might want to try it?  Do you have an old riding buddy who hasn’t been out lately?  Surveys show many people are interested in snowmobiling but aren’t sure how to get started, so International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week is here as your perfect excuse to invite your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers out for a ride and show them what snowmobiling is all about!  Dust off any extra gear you have around and take them out for a ride on your own time or join one of the many beginner level group rides being hosted by snowmobile clubs and associations around the world.

11    Annual K.S.A. Take A Friend Snowmobiling Group Ride – To celebrate International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week we will be hosting our annual Take A Friend Snowmobiling group ride in Whitehorse on Saturday 11 February 2022.
– This ride is free and open to everyone, and we will be on trails and routes suitable for beginners so riders of all skill levels and snowmobiles of all types are welcome to join.
– Ride starts at 10 am sharp at the Fish Lake Road / Copper Haul staging area and we plan to be back at the staging area by late afternoon.  Before departing the staging area we will gather up for a quick safety briefing and as a group choose a route based on the number and skill level of riders present at the ride.
– K.S.A. will lead the way however all participants will be responsible for bringing their own snowmobiles, fuel and gear. 
– Packing a light lunch or some snacks is recommended as we will be stopping for several short breaks at various points of interest along the way.
– Bring your friends and introduce them to the world of snowmobiling!
– This event is weather dependent and may be postponed if the weather is not suitable for a group ride.  Please check this page and our social media pages on the morning of the ride for confirmation.

17-19   Non-Motorized Only Weekend at Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site – Every third weekend during the winter season is designated as non-motorized only for the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site, please see note at bottom of this page for details.

TBA     K.S.A. Trail Groomer Training Day – We are planning an afternoon of initial training for a few folks interested in operating trail groomers, please let us know if you are interested in partaking.  We’ll start from the Copper Haul / Fish Lake Road staging area mid-day and once suitable snow conditions return we’ll pick a date and e-mail the list of interested people.

11    Annual K.S.A. Dawson Overland Trail Group Ride – Our annual group ride on the historic Dawson Overland Trail.  This trip we will be riding the lower half of the trail from the Takhini River Road staging area to the half way cabin and return, allowing for a few opportunities to play in the snow or explore small side trips.
– Everyone is welcome to join however all participants will be responsible for their own snowmobile, fuel, gear, etc. 
– Packing a lunch and some snacks is recommended.

– Pease be aware this will be a long day of riding on a remote wilderness trail where rough trail conditions and cold weather are likely to be encountered.
– Ride departs at 9 am from the Takhini River Road staging area and we expect to return to the staging area late that evening.

16-22  National Volunteer Week – The Klondike Snowmobile Association is proudly volunteer operated, and our volunteers have been working hard for you year-round for over 40 years. National Volunteer Week is a great opportunity for you to join us in saying a huge thank you to all of our past and present volunteers!

03     International Trails Day – A day to celebrate trails of all kinds and the healthy lifestyles they encourage, as well as the many hard working volunteers who maintain them.  Spend some time fixing up your favourite trail or just get out and enjoy an afternoon on the trails!

TBA    Summer Trail Work Days – A few sections of the Mt. McIntyre trail are in need of some brush clearing, so we’re planning to take some volunteers up for a couple afternoons over the summer and make it a nice trail again.  If you are interested in helping stay tuned for dates and times which will be determined closer in based on volunteer availability and more volunteers are always great to have!

Notes:

*Pursuant to Section 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of snowmobiles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site (CTNHS) is designated as
restricted, prohibiting their use during Non-Motorized Weekends. This includes the
operation, loading, and unloading of snowmobiles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot. Non-motorized weekends extend from 1:00AM on Friday through 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, as identified on the above schedule.
