  2. Group rides are sometimes postponed on short notice due to unsuitable weather or trail conditions, so please check this page and our social media pages on the morning of the ride for confirmation.
  3. For all K.S.A. rides helmets are mandatory and there will be zero tolerance for impaired or unsafe riding.

02     K.S.A. Board Meeting – Everyone is welcome to attend!  Meeting starts at 7 pm at Sport Yukon board room 2, use centre door.

 

07     Tagish Snowmobile Poker Run – The annual Tagish Poker Run is planned for Saturday 07 March 2026.  This event is hosted by the Tagish Community Centre, check out https://www.facebook.com/tagishcommunitycentre for more information.

 

06-08   Non-Motorized Weekend at the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site – Every third weekend during winter is designated as Non-Motorized Only in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site. Snowmobiles are not allowed anywhere in the CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot, on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of these weekends.  Snowmobiles are allowed most areas of the CTNHS on all other days.  Please see note at bottom of this page for more information.

 

21     K.S.A. Dawson Overland Trail Group Ride – Bring your friends and join us for another fun and exciting group snowmobiling ride on the Dawson Overland Trail!

  • When: Saturday 21 March 2026. Ride departs the staging area at 10:00 am and we expect to be back at the staging area by dark.
  • Where: Ride starts and ends at the Dawson Overland Trail staging area on the Takhini River Road just north of Whitehorse. We are planning to ride the Dawson Overland Trail heading north as far as the half-way K.S.A. cabin and return with some possible side trips. Plan for about 150 km of riding.
  • Skill level: Medium. Note: this ride is mostly easy trail riding however it is a long day on a remote wilderness trail where rough conditions, tricky creek crossings and big weather changes are possible.
  • Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along. Experienced K.S.A. volunteers will lead the way and ensure nobody gets left behind.
  • Participants will need to bring their own snowmobiles, fuel, gear and food.
  • We’ll be stopping for short breaks at several points of interest along the way so pack some snacks and water, as well as a light lunch for the half-way stop.
  • Helmets are mandatory for all K.S.A. rides and we will have zero tolerance for unsafe, disrespectful or impaired riding.
  • This ride is confirmed as happening, see you all at the staging area for 10:00!

26     Whitehorse Recreation Expo – City of Whitehorse is hosting another Recreation Expo on Sunday April 26th from 11 am to 2 pm at the Canada Games Centre.  Klondike Snowmobile Association volunteers will be there, so stop by to say hi and learn more about snowmobiling in the Yukon!

02     YFGA Outdoor Expo – Yukon Fish and Game Association will be hosting an Outdoor Expo on Saturday May 2nd from 9 am to 6 pm at the Canada Games Centre. This is a great opportunity to explore wilderness safety, conservation, fishing, hunting, outdoor recreation, and more.  Klondike Snowmobile Association volunteers will be there, so stop by to say hi and learn more about snowmobiling in the Yukon!

  • Everyone is welcome to attend and all Klondike Snowmobile Association members are encouraged to come out and have your say for the upcoming season.
  • We’ll be reviewing the past season, presenting a brief overview of our current status and financials, electing the 2026/2027 Board of Directors, and then discussing the upcoming season.
  • All members are welcome to run for a seat on the board, and all members are encouraged to come out and vote.

Non-Motorized Weekends at the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site:  Pursuant to Section 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of snowmobiles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site (CTNHS) is designated as
restricted, prohibiting their use during Non-Motorized Weekends. This includes the
operation, loading, and unloading of snowmobiles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot. Non-motorized weekends extend from 1:00AM on Friday through 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, as identified on the above schedule.
