01-08 Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race – The 2025 Yukon Quest will be taking place from February 1st through 8th 2025, starting in Teslin and travelling Teslin Lake’s northeast shore, South Canol Road, Deno Cho Trail to Faro, and return. Yukon Quest kindly asks that other recreational trail users avoid these areas during this time. Thank you!

Note: This meeting’s start time has moved from 19:00 up to 16:30 due to an issue with the board room bookings. This issue has since been resolved and we will be back to our usual 19:00 start time after this one.
08-17 International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week – Do you know someone who doesn’t snowmobile, but might be interested in trying it? Now is your excuse to dust off any extra riding gear you may have and invite your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers out for a snowmobile ride! Studies show that many people are interested in snowmobiling, but they either don’t know where to start or don’t want to spend the money without having tried it first. International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week is all about inviting these people out for a ride to introduce them to snowmobiling and show them what it’s all about! Take them out on your own time, or bring them to our annual K.S.A. Take a Friend Ride.

09 K.S.A. Annual Take A Friend Snowmobiling Group Ride – As part of International Take A Friend Snowmobiling Week, on Sunday February 9th we’ll be hosting our annual Take A Friend Group Ride in Whitehorse!
- Do you know someone who doesn’t snowmobile, but might be interested in trying it? Invite them today and bring them along!
- Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along on this ride.
- Ride starts at the Copper Haul Road / Fish Lake Road staging area at 10:00 am, and we expect to be back at the staging area before dark. Please show up as early as you need to and be ready to ride at 10:00.
- We will be sticking to easy trails and stopping for plenty of breaks so riders of all skill levels and snowmobiles of all types are encouraged to participate.
- Packing some snacks and a light lunch to eat along the way is recommended.
- The Klondike Snowmobile Association will lead the way and provide some guidance, however all participants will be responsible for their own snowmobiles, riding gear, fuel, and snacks. If you have any questions please contact us.
- Helmets and safe riding are mandatory for all K.S.A. rides.
- This ride is weather dependent and may be postponed on short notice, so please check this page and our social media pages on the morning of the ride for confirmation.

22-23 DPSAY Race on the Dawson Overland Trail – Dog Powered Sports Association of the Yukon (DPSAY) are hosting a new race for dog and human powered sports on the Dawson Overland Trail from Takhini Crossing to Braeburn and return on February 22nd and 23rd, 2025. They are kindly asking trail users not involved in the race to avoid the area if possible on these dates. Thank you!

11-14 57th Annual International Snowmobile Congress – Every year snowmobile enthusiasts, manufacturers, suppliers, and representatives from around the world meet at the International Snowmobile Congress. The 2025 International Snowmobile Congress is June 11th through 14th in Charlottetown, P.E.I. For details please visit www.snowmobilers.org/isc
TBA K.S.A. Summer Trail Work – To help improve and maintain the Yukon’s multi-use trail system, this summer we’ll be working on several trails around Whitehorse clearing brush, picking up litter and updating signage. Volunteers are needed, so stay tuned for dates and locations!

Non-Motorized Weekends at the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site: Pursuant to Section 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of snowmobiles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site (CTNHS) is designated as
restricted, prohibiting their use during Non-Motorized Weekends. This includes the
operation, loading, and unloading of snowmobiles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot. Non-motorized weekends extend from 1:00AM on Friday through 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, as identified on the above schedule. Snowmobiles are permitted at all other times. The schedule for each season is usually made available some time in November and posted here shortly after.
