Copper Haul Update – June 2020
09 June 2020 – Klondike Snowmobile Association
Fire smart crews are continuing to make progress on the Copper Haul Trail in Whitehorse. This project is intended to create a fire break protecting much of Whitehorse’s western side and as an added benefit when it’s done it will leave an improved Copper Haul Trail for multi-use trail users to enjoy. Crews and equipment are continuing work in the area so please slow down and use extra caution when using the Copper Haul Trail.
Also the Copper Haul Trail just south of the Fish Lake Road will be closed for a few days for culvert repairs. Please avoid this section of trail until work has been completed. A map of the closed section is available on the City of Whitehorse’s website at https://www.whitehorse.ca/Home/Components/News/News/4520/31?backlist=%2f.
Some of the brush and trees removed during the fire smart project are suitable for fire wood, and this fire wood is now available for free pickup. For details please check out the City of Whitehorse’s announcement at https://www.whitehorse.ca/Home/Components/News/News/4520/31?backlist=%2f.
