Grooming Season Wraps Up
21 April 2026 – Klondike Snowmobile Association
Spring has sprung in the Yukon, and with that our 2025/2026 trail grooming program has wrapped up for the season.
A huge thank you goes out to our team of dedicated volunteers that make grooming happen! All of our groomers are volunteer operated, and each season those volunteers spend hundreds of hours grooming multi-use trails for all outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy.
This season was a great snow year, and our K.S.A. grooming snowmobiles kept busy along side our dedicated volunteers. Our big side by side groomer also started out busy, however a transmission failure took it out of service for the second half of the season. It’s fixed now, and we will have it back on the trails working for you next season.
In addition to our primary K.S.A. equipment we also engaged with a few local operators around the Yukon to lend out grooming drags suitable for towing with their personal snowmobiles. This program has been successful so far and we are excited to get back into it again next season, and if it continues to be successful across multiple snow seasons we’ll definitely consider expanding the program to get more operators out on the trails.
With the groomers parked our Current Trail Conditions page will also be winding down for the season. There’s still some good backcountry snowmobiling to be had, however many trails in and around town are melting fast and this time of year backcountry conditions are changing far more rapidly than reports are coming in. Please continue to use the Avalanche Canada reports and forecasts at https://avalanche.ca/map when planning your backcountry adventures.
Our Current Trail Conditions page will close for the season at the end of April and we’ll have it back up and running when the 2026/2027 snowmobile season begins. Thank you everyone who sent in reports this season, we look forward to hearing from you again next season!
Although winter is quickly coming to an end, our volunteers will continue to be working for you year-round. Summer is a great time to catch up on trail brushing, signage updates, infrastructure repairs and equipment maintenance. If you have some time this summer and want to help us out we’d greatly appreciate it. Check our volunteer page at https://ksa.yk.ca/membership/volunteer/ to learn more.
