New K.S.A. Society Constitution and Bylaws
10 October 2022 – Klondike Snowmobile Association
The Yukon Government in April 2021 introduced a new Societies Act and associated Societies Regulations, and has given all groups incorporated under the Yukon’s Societies Act until 31 March 2023 to update their society’s constitution and bylaws accordingly and begin the transition to the new Act.
As the Klondike Snowmobile Association has been incorporated under the Yukon’s Society Act since 1984 this means we are required to update our constitution and bylaws, which upon review were already more than due for a general update.
We have come up with a proposed new constitution and proposed new bylaws both of which are based on the example models given by the Yukon Government, however prior to being filed with Corporate Affairs they must be passed by our membership by special resolution at a general meeting.
We plan to do this at our Annual General Meeting scheduled for Monday 07 November 2022 at 19.00 at the board room at Sport Yukon, 4061 4th Avenue in Whitehorse. Everyone is welcome to attend our Annual General Meeting and all current members of the Klondike Snowmobile Association are welcome to vote on the special resolution for the new constitution and bylaws.

A limited number of paper copies will be available at our Annual General Meeting, however to reduce cost and waste anyone attending who would like to have a copy with them is kindly requested to either use these electronic copies or bring their own print outs of them. Once passed and filed copies of our constitution and bylaws will be available any time by request.
