The Great Trail Is 100% Connected!

The Trans Canada Trail was born out of the Canada 125 celebrations in 1992, and a goal was set to have it completed for the Canada 150 celebrations in 2017.

On August 6th, 2017, Canadians from coast to coast to coast came together to celebrate 100% nation-wide connection “The Great Trail”, a multi-use trail stretching over 24,000 km through every province and territory in Canada.

The Trans Canada Trail was re-branded as The Great Trail in 2016. Currently the trail is known as “The Great Trail”, and the organization overseeing it is known as “Trans Canada Trail”.

Now that The Great Trail is 100% connected, work continues year-round as we maintain and improve the trail. For more information on The Great Trail in the Yukon, check out our Great Trail Page!
