Trans Canada Trail Highway Crossing Improvements

Trans Canada Trail Highway Crossing Improvements

19 July 2025 – Klondike Snowmobile Association

The Yukon Government’s Highways department has recently made some improvements to two major highway crossings on the Yukon’s section of Trans Canada Trail.

The Alaska Highway crossing north of Crestview in Whitehorse was substantially improved a few years ago, and further tweaks have been made to ensure the crossing remains in good condition for many years to come.

A more noticeable improvement is now in place where the Trans Canada Trail crosses the North Klondike Highway near the Alaska Highway intersection. Here new trail approaches have been constructed, so snowmobilers and other trail users can now approach the highway at a more comfortable angle and with better sight lines on the traffic, making the crossing substantially safer for both highway traffic and trail users.

A big thank you to everyone involved with this project!
